Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program of Montgomery County, Maryland. Pre-service training is an important part of our screening process for prospective volunteers. Our next training session will begin in January 2008. Topics explored during the pre-service training include information about child abuse and neglect, child development, and the child welfare and court systems. The roles and responsibilities of a CASA are complex; therefore, it is required that prospective volunteers attend all the sessions. If you are interested in attending training, please complete the Volunteer Application and return it to the CASA Program office. After we receive your application, a CASA staff member will call to schedule an interview.
